The Classic Rock Concerts I’ve Attended Vault™ — Iggy and The Stooges
Another gem from the Classic Rock Concerts I’ve Attended Vault:
Iggy & The Stooges w/ Bob Seger & The Thundering Herd, and Catfish Hodge
On Friday, July 6, 1973, we piled into Wes Teregan’s King Crimson van and ventured to the St. Clair Shores Ice Arena on a hot, humid Michigan night to have The Stooges virtually destroy our ear drums while Iggy rolled in broken glass, fell multiple times into the crowd and rubbed peanut butter all over his naked body. The bikers in the front row enjoyed punching Iggy in the face and he begged them for more. They hugged after the show and he signed autographs for them and two old grandmothers. Catfish Hodge opened the madness and they were followed by young Bob Seger who was featuring his newest album, “Back in ’72”. When the concert was over we floated home and many of us made it there by Sunday…
